A girlfriend I've been going out with has bought a mirror to put over my fireplace. Only known her three weeks. Politely refused. Think she is making her mark. Any advice please.

My brother in law had a similar girl friend - within a week she was telling him to move the front room furniture about, then she wanted to re-arrange the garden pots and said it would be berrter to have an artifical lawn and the final straw was when she suggested they went to Currys to look at cookers as his was gas and she preferred electric!!! She was soon on her way. God help the next one she tries to latch onto.

I think he was very polite.
Every time my mother-in-law interfered I was told...she's only trying to help. I think she did pay for the divorce though.

Stand your ground. Your house, your choice of decor and furnishings.

Go to her house with the mirror and hang it somewhere saying, “I think it would look great here. Bye!” and run for the hills!
