Swedie, Apparently the first word I ever spoke wasn't Dad, Dad, Dad or Mum, Mum, Mum. It was Bob! My grandparents dog. We lived at their home and he used to sit and guard me at all times.

(My son's first word was 'gone' - and I missed it! I left him with a neighbour for a very short while and disappeared in a hurry and he burst into tears and shouted out 'gone'.
I seriously believe that animals are more perceptive and more intelligent than we give them credit for and couldn't bare to live in a home without a dog or a cat. I love the friendship and love that animals bring to us.
I hope you've got a bit of St Auger in your fridge for me Woofy :)
Lovely day here after yesterdays dismal offering .

That's a lovely song Neti ...I still have the odd sob about lost pets and lost anyone really and always wish old Shaney goodnight as he's in the front room in a box !.
I think that was the first Bouquet of Barbed Wire .I didn't watch it though .Saw it first time round and I only ever liked Trevor Eve as Eddie Shoestring . It's all too angstridden for me .All that yelling , shouting and bedhopping .

I do all my library business on line Lofty . Order the books I want etc and they email when they are ready for collection. .Norfolk Library service is excellent .
We've got self scanners and payment too .

Hope you are all fair to middling
.I've managed to burn my finger and do something to my back today .And all before 9 am .How do you manage to pop something in your lumbar region by just leaning over to lift the lid off the linen basket ?
Yet another medical mystery :))
Hi Shaney,

Yes, I was very impressed with the scanners, especially as you can put loads of books under them and it registers them all. Now why they do that in Tescos!! And the machine doesn't shout at you either!!

And no need for many staff either. Everything is do it yourself. I bet I lose my library card now!!

Sorry about your back. If you will do those heavy jobs!!
Well that's how it happened the last time I threw my back out Shaney, I was just leaning forward to tie the handles of the bin bag together. It's a "tall" bag so I only had to bend ever so slightly but that did it. These in-the-middle positions seem to me to put more pressure on the vertebrae than when I bend to pick something up from the floor. Get well soon.

Sis says thanks for your comments, she really enjoyed reading them and she also sends her sympathy to those of you who have had sad experiences involving your animals./The "old" dog (the Border Collie) thinks it time to return the Border Terrier puppy and demand a full refund. He (the "old" dog) darts outside when sis goes to work in the morning and positions himself in front of her on the garden path as if to say "Hey look I've thought about it and I've decided to come with you to work today - anything is better than staying at home with that puppy". (Don't worry biddies - Dad is home too, he's recently retired.) So they've built the puppy a playpen where he has to stay put now and then to give the old dog a chance to relax for a few minutes.

Lol@ 'Bob' being your first word, Lottie:)

Guess what, I'm having computer problems. ("Nooooo?") I'll probably be returning it to the internet cafe tomorrow...

Oh bless Kit, puppies can get a bit much, the pen is a really good idea. We went out today to buy expanding bolts to put in our meringue walls and (incidentally of course) hamburgers for the dogs.
Woofy that is terrific, I've filled in the missing words several times, and each time they actually do it !!!
Oh shaney, is it all screaming and anxst-ridden, I'll give it a whirl but can always turn it off!!
He he, I just typed in dances.......................

Lovely!! What a giggle. Thanks Woofie
Very funny bear. I told him to kiss it...I'm going to send it to my friends.
I've made a lovely soup with your basic recipe Lottie.Cut down the amounts and put in mushrooms and creme fraiche this time.
When I had to take my little Shep to be put to sleep all I could do with tears streaming was keep saying 'Sorry Shep' over and over, He just kept looking at me and then went to sleep. That's made me really sad he was a lovely dog. They are so loyal aren't they.
We have a scanner at our library but I haven't been in for quite a while. I really should get back into reading but haven't found anything I want to read lately. I have some books my plumber lent me but haven't started them. They are the series of books by Dan Brown about the Da Vinci Code but they don't appeal to me even though I went to see the film. Can't say I was too thrilled by that.
Been out for lunch today with my rock 'n' rolling friend.for a good natter.Had a veggie lasagna really tasty. Then we came back to my house and sat in the garden having a coffee and more nattering. I do miss going out with her to our usual haunt but nothing stays the same does it.
Robi, decorator booked, paint bought and everything organised for Monday. All I need now is a new light fitting as I broke the one I have when trying to put a bulb in some while ago. I have a faint recollection of telling you about that before.
Cuppa tea time - catch yer later!

P.S. Hiya Dolly wondered where you'd got too.
here's the first paragraph of The Da Vinci Code

"Renowned curator Jacques Saunière staggered through the vaulted archway of the museum's Grand Gallery. He lunged for the nearest painting he could see, a Caravaggio. Grabbing the gilded frame, the seventy-six-year-old man heaved the masterpiece toward himself until it tore from the wall and Saunière collapsed backward in a heap beneath the canvas."

Beats me how anyone's ever made it to the second para. Is this man the new Shakespeare or what?

(Maybe Kit can say if it sounds better in Swedish.)
Don't think I'll bother Jno. I still haven't watched the film The Reader yet!
The bear advert isn't working now. don't know why. Sent it to my friends as well and one of them has written and told me.
So many books nowadays seem to be written in a manner as if the author is already anticipating it being turned into a film. I think what you quoted jno is as far as I got cos I remember looking at the book (in Swedish:) in a bookstore and putting it down again after just a couple of seconds.

Shep is a lovely name for a dog, Jude:) I bet he was nice.
Another B****y bulb has gone in my kitchen fitting now it's like the Black Hole of Calcutta in ere. Come 9 I'll be in the other room watching QI on Dave for a bit so it wont matter.
Kit My youngest gave Shep his name I have a photo of him holding him when he was a few hours old. He was different from the other 5. All born in this kitchen. I have an integral shed so I set Purdy up with a basket and a cosy place to be with her pups in there. One of the pups died even though we did try to save it and we found homes for all the rest.where we could see them. Family and friends and a neighbour had them except for one which went to a pet shop where the owner had a lady waiting for him.Purdy was a friend's dog with nowhere to look after her with her pups so I said I would sort it.
It's ( so I'm off now
See yer later 'gater(s) Have a good night! xx
Just had a dellicious take-away curry from an Irish bar in the next village (Es Cana) and it is the best I've ever had here on the island.

I asked the hunter to kiss, cuddle and dance with the bear and he did all three. Didn't dare ask for anything ruder!!!
You must write 'shags' Neti, it's very funny!

Imagine that, puppies in the kitchen, that's so cosy:)))
Will one of you kind people email me the link to the Bear Ad cos it isn't working for me on here, Thanks a bunch...!
Haha , I asked for Drink with the bear ...hahaaa .He can piddle for England :)
I bought a copy of the Da Vinci Code from a charity shop ages ago ....and took it back the following day .Load of old rubbish .I think I read about two pages before I lost the will to live .
I've mailed it to you Jude .I hope you can see it .
Well Kit I typed in shags and it was hilarious. The drink one is funny, there was one I typed in and the bear came up to the camera and shook his fist and then his head and walked away!!!!
