Morning all. It's a bit blowy round the nether regions over here. Hope you are all ok today. I had a sleepless night. don't know why. Do steroids keep you awake or what. I have no idea what they are.
Kit I think maybe you were right as i was a bit anxious about my B'day and I think colitis can be brought on by stress. I have to go back to the Docs on Monday if things aren't improving or a fortnight if they are.
You asked about the ring I had made for my DinL. Well I had a sapphire out of a ring I had altered that belonged to my mother and I have a jeweller who is an expert craftsman and he made me a modern silver ring and put the sapphire in it. Not a broad one. Just normal with a twist effect on the top with the sapphire set in. Very much like this one.

this says (halfway down the page) that steroids can interfere with sleeping patterns

http://www.netwellnes...topics/sleep/faq1.cfm

so that might be it, Jude. Maybe if you take enough of them you can crawl into a cave and hibernate all winter. Tempting, isn't it?

yes steroids can keep you awake, at least they can dogs, I have to give my boy his in the morning not at bedtime.....lovely ring Jude.
beautiful walk this morning, moonlit sky barred with cloud
and!!!! we have a date!!! DH sees the anaesthetist on monday morning, 27th and all being well, he gets operated on on the following monday afternoon, the 4th. DH says if the anaesthingy person gets funny he'll make him an offer he can't refuse.....
Ijust have to keep him healthy and in one piece till the 4th.......
A'noon people...hope you're all as well as...
bloomin' draughty here & much colder, puta says 11C :o(
This is just a short post, I've been battling a bad headache yet again for the past 2 days. I'm going to be brave & see the doc next week, I expect it'll be a round of tests & running about but it's getting silly now & very debillitating. Leaving off the ibuprofen isn't helping but at least the soreness has gone, gaviscon seems to have settled that.
On the plus side, we've found a lovely new gardener & he's been & mowed so the old let down is fired. And I might be having a freebie greenhouse if it'll fit where I want it to go, so I'll be a very happy biddy if that works out....just looking for a mucho cheapio summerhouse & I'll be ecstatic.
All you'll need then is a hedge like Prince Charles to stand your busts in Robinia and you'll be sorted :-)
Sorry to hear you feel under the weather .Yes I think a trip to the doctors is on the cards .Could be the change in the weather tho' .I felt like death warmed up yesterday . Here a pain there a pain ,everywhere a pain pain .It's sloshing down here and bloody cold .

Good news for you too then Woofy . I hope it all goes well and will be thinking of you .

Jude ,steroids do make you wakeful .They made me put on weight too and my face became puffy and for some reason I felt irritable at times for no reason .I was on them for about six months but wasn't happy so they gradually decreased the dose until I came off them .You can't stop them dead.

Vinny I've got Spotify on my desktop .Very good it is too. But I don't know how to move it from the desktop to my browser or into my bookmarks .
.
Well there's nothing doing here really in this crip weather .I think summer is finally over :(
Take care all ,see you anon xxx

Oh Robi, be brave and go..
Afternoon folks, here I is!! Lovely and chilly and I'm lovin' it. Have been shopping like mad as I brought no clothes with me!

Mr N has only just come out of the theatre (operating) and is completely numb from waste down and knee is packed with ice and a rather large bandage, but says he feels Ok at present but I guess the pain will set in when the epidural wears off.

Am on a mobile dongle so will read through all the posts another time when I'm not paying!

Has Kit been able to get on?

Take care possums, I'll be back !!!!!
well, dates all round! Come on, Robinia, do join in, you know you'll love it when you get to the surgery.

Shaney, as a rule things on your desktop are just shortcuts, a bit like bookmarks. If it's on your desktop it should show up somewhere on your start menu too? And can you not just bookmark it in the usual way when you've called the page up in whatever fashion? (Control+d, I think).
I've just had a quick fiddle with it Jno . I've managed to put it into My Documents .I downloaded it again .So now I can call it up at the bottom of my screen .Which is easy enough for me to navigate .I'd rather have it as a tab at the top but that's a tad too techie pour moi .
Great .I'm listening to Carly Simon .. ♫ The Carter family lived next door....♫
Afternoon each. thanks for info on steroids. I only have to take them for 7 days so I'm hoping that's it. I'm half asleep now but daren't drop off cos I'll have another bad night if I do. Anyway my friend is coming to watch the film we've been promising to watch for ages. The Reader.
My sister gave me a voucher for Boots so I went to buy some perfume. First I drove down to The Wyvern we have a Boots there. No luck I wanted the 50ml size. Then I got the bus to town and went in Westfield Boots. No luck there either So I came home and sent them an 'email of discontent'. I reckon it was because it is on offer.
I've found another odd job man Robi. He has done me a little tidy up thing made of wood to cover up all my computer wires. He's a qualified electrician as well. But my nephew has that job. Anyway hes going to creosote my fencing for me soon if I can get him on a day when it's dry. I know it's a bit late to do it now but he said he would.
Woofy ~ I'm pleased DH has got his date now and will be sorted out very soon.
Neti good to hear Mr N has had his op and is recovering ok. Try not to worry and remember he did say he wanted you to go on holiday and would be ok. Have a good time.
Yes Robi get off to the Drs and get sorted. I don't like going either cos when I do he always sends me for a bloody blood test. I dread it when the phone goes around 6 o'clock cos he rings about that time if there's anything to report. It was about 12 months ago when he rang and told me I was IGT. I put GIT then and thought 'no that's not right :~)
Have a good evening everybiddy catch yer later!
Neti ..I am sorry .I didn't see you there earlier .You must have been there but I wasn't concentrating .Glad to see Mr N has had his op .Hope he'll soon be on his feet again and feeling much better .
Whaddya mean you didn't bring any clothes ? I bet there's not a a pair of knickers left in Primark :-)

Enjoy your film Jude .I'm just waiting for New Tricks with dishy Dennis .
Just popping in, just spoken to Mr N and he is fine, can even walk! but has to go back in 2 weeks so has to rest for a couple of days.

I have to share my kingsize bed here with sister's grubby looking 8yr old granddaughter tonight as it wants to stay!! Am not pleased, if it starts bouncing then I'll wallop it!!

I'll say goodnight and will try to get on fully in a few days. Love to you all x
Question Author
Ha Neti I bet you don't wallop it...do what i do with the dogs, you poke them in the ribs and say "settle down" in a stern voice or "move over" if they are nicking all the bed. Cold but beautiful walk today...lovely moon (waning gibbous) in a clear sky.
time for zzzz's
Morning all. Hopefully daughter is due to land. Night with child was Ok, and Mr N has just told me that he drove daughter to airport cos he didn't want car in airport parking for 4 days! I couldn't believe he did that but he says the knee is fine, just a bit sore. He was a long time in theatre as they couldn't cut the meniscus out so just snipped it in the end, they couldn't find it at first!!!

Men!! so glad I didn't cancel my holiday!!!!

Hope you are all feeling fine, esp Robi, DH and mr s.

Hi Dolly!
Question Author
morning all, sweet quirky vid here, i posted it in pets as well but thought that my mates should be sure and see it.
http://www.wendyfrancisco.com/
Good morning. What a lovely briight day even if it is cold. I'm feeling a lot better after a decent night's sleep. Also what has made me feel even better is I have met 2 people today I haven't seen for ages and they said I'm looking very well. So that has cheered me up. Especially after watching 'The Reader' last night. If yoju want cheering up or feel depressed then don't watch it. What a miserable film. good job me and my friend had the Rosé and the crisps to console us. Low fat of course.
I will say though that it was a moving and very well acted story.
Great news about Mr N Neti. You can relax now and have a good time.
Hope other 'better halves' are doing ok. as time gets nearer to their ops.
Enjoyed the vid Woofy very cute. Sorry if that's the wrong word but that''s how I saw it.
Hope you're feeling better too Robi. And Hi to Vin Lottie and Dolly.
Have a good weekend see yer later 'gater(s)!
Afternoon all
Crip day here .Blowing a gale and pelting with rain . The sun comes out for about ten mins then it all goes dark again then pelts with more rain .It's not too warm either Sopping washing still on the line .

I shan't bother with The Reader then Jude :-)

Lovely clip Woofy .Very true .

Glad to see Mr N is on his feet Neti .Those minor knee ops soon get better .Get on and enjoy your holiday now .Primark awaits :-)

Hope everyone else is doing OK ....have a good weekend folks and take care .

Jude i thought the vid was cute too...not deep or anything just sweet and quite cheering. Neti Mr N is lucky you aren't there, you'd have him tied to a chair with his leg up and the car keys confiscated. I am glad you are having a good time anyway and that all went well for Mr N....gotta go hoover, we've got friends coming
Afternoon girls and boy. Seems like things have come to a halt outside my window and next week is probably going to be rather quiet too, I've found out. Apparently the housing company hasn't quite closed the deal yet and the building needs further examination before they proceed. Good thing they erected the scaffolding though so the football hooligans had a sweet place to party last night on their way between the stadium and the pubs =:0 In spite of the REAL demolition not having broken loose yet I'm still tired of it and affected by the whatever-dust; I was talking to a friend on the phone last night and she said I sounded like Gollum. With friends like that...

Oh Jude I see - I misunderstood about the ring and I thought you had *made* it (Bang Bang Judith Silver Hammer:) But going back to the post where you mentioned the ring you did say you HAD HAD it made so that was a reado (cf. typo) on my behalf. In any case it's so beautiful and it's nice that you are all okay with her keeping it. Not sure I would be!

"I'm numb from the waist down Honey", what a smart thing to say eh Neti, I think Vinny did go to Ibiza after all and he's now feeding Mr N lines to say to you over the phone so you won't come home and break up the party;-) ...but seriously I'm glad he's okay and good thing you went:)

Back later!
Should that be 'broke' or 'broken', I'm damned if I can "hear" which is right!
