I have just spent a happy hour going through my main wardrobe. All the black clothes came out first, trousers, cardigans, jackets and tops.
No more black stuff.

Then, all the red clothes which I should never have bought in the first place. Red does not suit me.

Then all my 'work' jackets which I shall never wear again, apart from two which look good with casual trousers/jeans. The charity shops are in for a field day.

I feel strangely elated. A good job done. Now what to do with all the spare coat hangers?

Last time I had a clear out I took all the spare hangers To the charity shop along with the clothes and they said they don't take them any more and gave the back!
I would just love to do that but every time I try, I end up putting most of them back again!

I know that charity shops take them, Margo. I suppose it's the tidy tip for them.

Ellie, be bold!
I have about 200 hangers that nobody wants. If I can't export them to China I may have to bury them under the patio.

Now, I always refuse to have the hangers when I buy anything but they do seem to proliferate in the drawer under the bed.
About 80% of the stuff in my wardrobe I intend to wear again when I lose 20 kilos! LOL
I've started doing the same as you Tilly Andy leaving them n the shop
I'm a bit like elliemay, have a look then close the doors again lol

Good luck with that Dave.

Maggie, try one garment at a time.
I love a good clear out of drawers and wardrobes , the saying goes if you’ve not worn it in the last six months chances are you never will ( well here it does)

How about six years, Bobbie?
Ohhh Noooo Tilly,my late friend was such a hoarder and the task of emptying her wardrobes and drawers was a monumental task, Beaver lamb coats ( I kid you not) that was without the stuff in the attic!
Question Author
What did you do with it all, Bobbie?
Sent at least 34 bags to the Charity shop Tilly
Question Author
34! Goodness, she really was a hoarder.
Unbelievably so, she’d even kept a payment book from 1964 for their furniture when they got married, her parents had died over 20 years before her and she still had ‘receipts’ of paying their council tax for them , she didn’t believe in DD till her husband died a year before her ( 2 years yesterday) I spent a full day dealing with gas, electric,Virgin media, council tax ,BT as had an email address ,neither of the knew what each other had in the bank…..nightmare
//Then, all the red clothes which I should never have bought in the first place//

What about the Stoke City shirt? You could never throw that away could you? Plus if you keep a drawer full of profiteroles under the bed ever likely all your gear won't fit you.
Red ? You need a to wear a red jumper or shirt when you are cheering for the Welsh Rugby Team.
You keep Profiteroles under your bed Togo?
Not me Bobbs ... Tilly.
