Perhaps slightly taller than they are thick. I don't want them to fall over if my dog crashes into a table as he is wont to do. I've looked on Amazon but couldn't see what I want.

Any ideas please?

You getting prepared for the power cuts then.

Thank you so much Toorak. Just brilliant, all sizes and so cheap. Mwah!

Yes Gully.
Try a church supplier.
^^^ I've had 3 power cuts this evening - and that's before energy shortages!
raid the local chapter!
^^^ Nice try DTC - but our church keeps candles at various houses because the wicks get damp if left in the place (it's 11th Century)!
We don't have an Ikea store around here. (The nearest one is at Lakeside, 72 miles away from me. It's nominally about an hour and a quarter's drive but the traffic around Lakeside is often horrendous, so getting there and parking can take the better part of two hours).

Don't forget good old Dunelm!

or even B&M possibly

Asda, maybe?

Also worth getting spike candle holders with a wide shallow dish, makes them much harder to knock over, any they catch a lot more of the drips. Amazon have loads
Get mine from Poundland (£2). Same in Poundworld. Sorry I don't aspire to posher places like Ikea.

Thank you everyone. I'm spoilt for choice now. Keep me busy perusing all weekend. xx
Can I just say please put candles in an enclosed glass container. Please don’t just stand them in a dish. I’ve seen the result of that - and it’s not pretty.

Those lanterns you can buy do the job - or a big plain glass vase.
And don’t buy cheap!

Sorry, since the wax on a friend’s lit candles standing on a hearth caught fire and ran onto the carpet catching that alight too I’m a bit paranoid about treating candies safety. Please be safe.

Thanks Naomi. I have one now that is just about to finish burning in a lovely glass jar. Tomorrow I shall wash the glass and use it for any new ones I buy. So no worries.
Soooo pleased to hear about the jar. I worry. :o/
How many do you want - four?
Question Author
LOL Lankeela. Very good.
LB....jars are dangerous! I was having a parents evening with my Brownie Pack. We decorated jars and put a candle in each for a little parade thinking candles in jars would be fine.
One Brownie in the parade didn't notice that the plait of the Brownie in front of her had gone into the jar.
Have you ever had to rescue a Brownie on fire?! :-)
