We have been waiting for our energy discount to be applied. We pay by direct debit, our last dd was paid 8 days ago, anybody else having difficulties, as usual you cannot get in touch with british gas

The direct debit stays the same....the credit will show as seperate entry ,a credit , in your bank account

You don't get a refund, the credit will show up on your energy account.
There probably inundated with calls from people wanting to submit readings or change dd's Ormskirk about there refunds

i had an email from my energy company offering me the choice of paying less or keeping the payment the same and building up a credit.
Gully...I'm on dd and got a bank credit for the discount. Maybe some do it that way especially if its quarterly payments on receipt of bill
I pay DD on receipt of the bill. The refund has been deducted from the amount due which was indicated when I submitted a reading prior to Oct 1st. I'm with SSE and my actual bill isn't due till end of November.
Catswhisks...have a look on martin Lewis website....he lists how and when each supplier is doing the refunds
It's very confusing because SSE had previously indicated that it wouldn't be implemented until the final bill was issued.
We are with EDF. Their info states that for those paying by direct debit, there will be a payment made to the account the debit is taken from within 5 working days of the debit. Our dd was taken on the 6th so presumably they have till the 13th - the credit has not come yet funnily enough. Strange that in this electronic age we still have notional working days.
Thanks Bobbinwales. Think it must have been SSE's original wording that confused me. Certainly looks as though it's an automatic credit every month and not on receipt of the bill.
I'm on a pre-payment meter and have already received my first payment. As i use more gas than leccy - especially during the winter months - I would have preferred it to have gone on the gas. As it is, come the end of the 6 months, i'll have a tidy little balance on my leccy.

I'm with sse prepayment and supposed to be getting a voucher that can be used/split between gas and electric.
Our EDF refund was paid within three days of the direct debit being paid.
I have put the £66 in a separate savings account so it doesn't get lost in my current account. I shall do the same with any other 'help' or refunds that we receive. The money will be there if we get really desperate.
i pay british gas when i get the bill and £66 was knocked off
I'm with Scottish Power and my direct debit of £120 was paid as usual on Oct 3rd and have received £66 back to my bank account today (one week later or 5 working days). But my mum n dad are with Octopus and they have had their DD reduced by £66 but full direct debit amount is being applied to their account. Seems everyone doing their own thing.
