There are loads of different tips if you Google as per you question, but the most important thing seem to be Speed. I find Vanish spray is very good. A tablespoon of washing up liquid in two cups of cool water dabbed on and then blotted, then sponged with cool water and blotted if you have nothing else to hand
Plenty of cold water a.s.a.p. & blot & blot with kitchen towel. Then try Margotester's tip with w-up liquid.
Mrs. bb agrees with MargoTester's recommendation of Vanish spray. She once removed a red wine stain from a carpet with it.
Wine Away
Brilliant. Even removes it from white napkins/tablecloths. Just spray it on.
Lots of water. Scrub fairly gently, leave to dry, then scrub hard.
Don’t use salt
Don't let it dry! (useful info if you're always spilling it!).
