Recommendations For New Vacuum

Can anyone recommend a battery powered vacuum which has rechargeable batteries?
We have a Vax at present but the battery is fading fast and it will only do one room before it needs recharging.
It was good but now it's useless.

Why not just change the battery for new one if the thing itself is still in a reasonable condition.

I like my GTech hand held for quick jobs and the stairs but I can't really see the point of a full size cordless vac. My vacuum must be 20 years old and is still working perfectly, it doesn't take a lot of effort to plug it in

Zacs for vacs. GTec are the best. We have two, plus mower, hedge trimmer, strimmer. Batteries last decent amount too.

There was a similar thread a couple of years ago - I bought a Beldray Airgility for £70. It's still going strong. Dunno how it compares with others in terms of performance.

We have GTechPro - light in weight, good if you struggle to carry machine up stairs etc, which is why we bought it, fine for routine work, but would not cope with heavy work, and watch out for ooze blocking bottom of main tube behind the brushes. Battery takes a while to charge but you get up to 40 minuted use on lower power setting. Often reduced price offers to be found.

Still worth getting a quote for a new battery, surely within the skills of most repairers. I still use a corded one but would probably save up for a miele next time although most of my friends have sharks and say they are very good.

GTech is very very good - we have an K9 upright and a K9 handheld - bought as a bundle for a huge discount - about £250 for the lot. The K9 models have better pickup for dog hairs and other similar crud.

I have a Gtech for upstairs and a Shark for downstairs. Both cordless. Both OK for a quick buzz round and both need emptying every time I use them. But neither of them is anywhere near as good as my corded Miele for suction and general performance. Plus turning the Shark into a hand held or just a pipe end is a huge faff of buttons and sliders.

I'm another one who would recommend a G.Tech. I had a problem a few weeks ago, but it is a few years old, and all it took to fix it was a squirt of WD40 on the one/off switch which was sticking a bit. It's all systems go again now.

I like the Gtech so much that I have two - at opposite ends of the house. The only downside for me is the very small dust container - it needs emptying a lot.

I also like my big old Henry, but it is cumbersome in comparison. However, it hardly ever needs emptying. :0)

my vac is just collecting dust
