Ideas Please
We use the back door a lot, and it opens onto the kitchen, so it means coats, shoes etc tend to get left there, when the weather is bad, apart from having a porch built, which I would, rather not, any ideas where to leave coats/shoes before coming into the house, without leaving them outside to the elements.

Is there room in the kitchen for a few hooks to be placed on a wall to hang coats?
Is there room for a shoe rack or small cupboard that could house the shoes?
If there's no room in the kitchen, where does the kitchen door lead to? Assuming it's a hallway, could you not put something out there? Do you have a storage area under your stairs (assuming you're not in a bungalow)?
It might be simplest just to tidy things up a bit inside:

Otherwise though, try googling 'tall garden storage' for something to go outside. For example, I found this as a possibility:

(You could put something like the rack from my first link inside such a storage container, giving you somewhere to put your coats and shoes, but, obviously, you'd need to check the dimensions first).
A metal cupboard would be bit more expensive, but more watherproof. Some these have hanging space for coats and room for shoes/boots. I know our Keter storeage box (very old) gets damp inside.

I don't see the point of removing your coat and changing your shoes in the pouring rain if you have a shed/cabinet. The only way to achieve a proper solution is to build a small extension to your kitchen. If space allows this your next step would be to get ideas from local builders, bearing in mind building regs.
When the weather is bad are you really thinking of standing in the rain to take your coat off and hang it up in whatever storage you choose ? Then change your shoes and walk into the house in now wet slippers or whatever you change into?
You might not want a porch but to me it would be the best option. A place to store your coats and shoes in the dry and with easy access.
