Bathroom Light

Renewing our bathroom and want something different from recessed/spotlights but really struggling to find anything. Also understand they have to be specific for bathrooms and at the moment all we can find are round or square ones which I had in our porch in previous house so any ideas or pics would be great. Thank you

One should be aware that 'integrated LED' in both of those stylish examples means changing the whole unit when the lamp fails.

Yes Douglas, I have noticed that is increasingly being done.

The second thing to look out for is the IP setting, depending on where you set the light.

As a qualified electrician I always err on the side of caution with bathrooms, always 12V IP65 fire rated(if recessed) with the light swtich outside the room.  Overkill maybe but leccy and water dont mix too well especially if you are there to help earth it faster!

If you google bathroom light regulations (or similar) you should find some pretty digrams explaining them.

Depends how old you are, LEDS do not last forever at all I have had a few fail on me.

Often in those buit in ones they are multi diode so you find balckspots appearing.

Unfortunately, these LED built in modules are not replaceable. Therefore, if the fitting was to stop working once the product warranty has expired, a replacement would need to be purchased

The British obsession about electricity in bathrooms makes me laugh.

You go abroad and find light switches and plug sockets in bathrooms, but I'm not aware of high death rates in these countries.

The Germans even tend to put their washing machines in their bathrooms. They think it a bit weird that we often put ours in the kitchen.
