Hi All,

I live in north london and want a good Broadband service. I use Tiscali at the moment, but it's not very good. I am also contracted for a year with Homecall for my telephone bills. I am thinking of combining both into one homecall package. Is that the best way to go, or is there a better cheaper option? Is homecall's internet service any good? Also, what is a good speed for broadband? Thanks.

a good speed for broadband depends what you want it for. routine browsing and checking emails isn't downloading too much, so 512kb would do. if you're downloading lots of music or even larger files, you may want to go faster, 2mb or something like that.

as for the ISP, have a look into whether you have cable in your area. I can't fault telewest's service, and I think NTL is very similar also. they also have pretty good broadband, digital tv and phone packages.

personally I use homechoice as for 27 a month you get 1Meg broadband (you can get quicker if you like), free calls at weekends/evenings and about 80 TV channels down the phone line.
