garden waste

I have recently bought a house with a very large garden. We have managed to clear most of it as it was very over grown. At the end of the garden it seems that the world and his wife have used it as a dumping ground for all their tree and grass cuttings. This has not been able to rot as it has been quite well sheltered. Does any one know where i can get rid of this waste? As i spent lots of money on skips, car trips to the tip and putting it in my green bin will take me years to shift it!

look in the local paper for rubbish clearance, usually a couple of guys turn up, load it on their lorry and take it away.i had a load taken away for 60.well worth it.

One solution is to invest in a chipper or shredder and use the material as a mulch around the garden or compost it (it will rot down much quicker when shredded)

Secondly you cuold contact your local council and arange a special collection, they should be comited to recycle green waste.

Thirdley you could find a reputable person with a truck to clear it for you at a reasonable price if you shop around..

We found a guy in our paper who did garden clearance. We had a small garden full of junk and it was 40 for him to load it all and take it away.

You'll end up paying twice to have it cleared. Once when the guys turn up to take it away and then again when your council tax goes up to cover the cost of clearing fly tips.
