I have just bought some Basic Sainsbury's Mince meat, it was really cheap as it was reduced due to today being it's sell by date. I was planning making mince and tatties or something tasty with it, does anyone have a favorite recipe, and it doesn't have to be for mince and tatties, just something tasty to cook with mince.

mince
1 finely chopped onion
1-2 bread slices made into bread crumbs
1 tsp oregano
1 egg
1 tblsp ketchup
seasoning
All in a bowl, combine thoroughly and make into balls. Fry them till they're browned and then add 1-2 pints of beef stock and simmer for 1/2 hour or so, you can thicken with 1-2 tsp cornflour mixed with cold water, and serve with veggies.....
Cook mince with onion add a few frozen mixed diced veg. 1 jar bolongnese sauce. Cook in separate pan small pasta shells then drain and mix with the mince and veg mix.add seasoning I use mixed herbs.
And Asciwhite I have copied a few of your recipes especially the one with the pork. That was very nice.
Easy Chilli - but probably too late for today:
Chop an onion and fry till soft. Add mince and cook for a few minutes till fat runs. Drain fat away.
Add a chopped red pepper, a tin of tomatoes and a tin of kidney beans, including the liquid they come in. Add a half teaspoon of chilli flakes (or a full teaspoon of powder.)
Cook for around 40 mins. Serve with boiled rice.
For any mince dish where you're using stock, add a tablespoon or so of brown sauce such as Daddies or HP with the stock. The vinegar in the sauce will have cooked away totally after 10 minutes or so, and you'll find there's a super added richness to the mince.
And for recipies that call for tomato puree, add it to the browned mince, mix in well, and fry while stirring for a minute or two before adding any of the remaining ingredients. It'll give a nice sundried/roasted tomato sort of flavour.
Mmm!
