House plants help

Can anyone help me? All my house plants seem to last only ten minutes. What am I doing wrong?

The most common causes of houseplant death are 1) Overwatering and 2) Sudden large swings in environmental conditions: high/low humidity, drafts of hot/cold air, etc.(especially typical student flats!). Most plants just can't cope - perhaps you could try growing a cactus..(!)
