For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Without going into botanical jargen, many flowers are pollenated by displaying their bright showy flowers to attract insects, ( bees are a good example) bees tend to stick to one type of flower, whats in it for the bee ? nectar, while getting a drink of the sweet nectar, the bee transferes pollen grains to the female parts of the flowers, which the flowers have carefully designed themselves to do over millions of years, if no insects are around some flowers will actually self pollenate.
Other plants that do not have "come and get it neon signs, saying nectar available" ie grasses have evolved to rely on the wind to blow pollen from one plant to another. The humming bird is another pollenater probably many others too even bats on sertain plants !!
