does the septic tank have to be in the front or rear of the house?

Hi,surely it all depends where there there is more room and wher most of plumbing is, in my last cottage it was to the side,but we lived in one where it was at the back and now we have one at the front,so I would have a word with building inspector,but I can't see why it has to be a particular place,just a certain distance, Ray

Can be either, surely? You just need to be able to get reasonable access to it (for the tanker).

As Ray says it just has to be a certain distance from the house, and neighbours! and is best put where it gets a good run. Unfortunately ours is uphill from our cottage!!!
