Blue Tits
3 Answers
We've had a family of blue tits feeding from our food station on the third floor. They came 3 or 4 times a day. Suddenly sparrows and a thrush appeared and the blue tits have vanished. Do they migrate, are the other birds responsible? After 3 months of the blue tits visiting us, I miss seeing them. What does anyone reckon is the reason for their disappearing?

Once hatched- they will be collecting insects and caterpillars to feed to the young. They won't be feeding them seed! And what you will have had visiting over the last three months wont be a 'family' as such. Over the winter months many small birds tend to group together but split up into pairs when the breeding season rolls round.
