Lily pollen
4 Answers
Hi! Can anyone help? Some lily pollen dropped on to our beige carpet and my bf thought he was helping by using Vanish mousse to remove the pollen (!). As you can imagine, I now have a nicely stained carpet! Has anyone any suggestions how I can try to remove this stain? Many thanks, Suzanne

DON'T rub it or wet it. Once it's stained theres really not too much you can do, try a paste of oxi clean (bright pink tub) apply and leave for a while then remove - you may need to repeat it a few times.
A florist friend told me they always cut the stamens out of lilies and now I do the same just to be on the safe side.
99.8% Removal Rating on even red wine and ink pen. They are ways to get hard to remove spots out of carpets. Depending on the grade of carpet you have and the color of it you may use a heat transfer method to get it out. Buy some Salon grade hair dye condition Volume 30 (Pick it up at any beauty supply store that offers hair die chemicals.), basic cleaning amonia from your local super market, white terry cloth towels, and an electric iron. Puth the dye conditioner on the stain and rub it in with a brush, and then spray some amonia on the stain on top of the dye conditioner. Allow these to sit for a few minutes. Heat your iron to the nylon setting (fill with water if allowed). Lay a moist terry cloth towel over the spot and then press the iron on it with moderate preasure for a minute or two. Remove iron and check the stain, if still there move a clean part of the terry cloth to the stained area and repeat until removed. If you must repeat more than three times allow time for your carpet to recover from the heat then you may restart the process. Always watch out when you heat chemicals that you wear thick plastic gloves and watch out for the steam from the iron and steam misture. This will work on most spots and has a great succes rate. I have saved many of homes carpets with this method. I have owned my own carpet cleaning business for the past 3 years. www.QualityCarpetCleaners.com. Enjoy and good luck.
The most brilliant carpet cleaning stuff it called Carpet Rescue and you can get it in Pets at Home stores. A few months ago we got a puppy and I bought it for toilet training purposes. But found it could remove old dried in stains that not even prof. carpet cleaners could. We then decided to hire a carpet cleaner and bought a couple of bottles of this to use instead of the shampoo you get with the carpet cleaner and all our carpets look like they've just been laid. Get yourself a spray bottle of it and you should be as right as rain
