I live in a bungalow and suffer from condensation in the bedrooms. In my sons room where the bed runs along the window wall he suffers black mould above the bed where the wall joins the ceiling. It appears between the ceiling joists as the position of the joists can be clearly seen as they are free from the ugly black mould. The ceiling was emusioned about 18 months ago and the mould appeared soon after. He always has his windows open when he is in the house.
In my bedroom I have a bay window and the ceiling in the bay suffers also. I have washed it with bleach etc but after a few months the black mould returns. A wet mould also keeps returning on the lower walls of the bay walls which are decorated with emusioned wallpaper. Can anyone suggest a cure please?
Hi all, especially those who are still in the middle of extensive research to solve this one. I have now solved the problem of the black mould on the ceilings. A visit to the loft found that insulation was missing from above the affected areas. I think that once it has been insulated properly the ceiling problem should go away.
hi douggym, will you let us know how you get on? I live in a bungalow and have exactly the same problems! we had our roof done last year and still it didn't help!
