We recently changed the taps in our kitchen. Since doing so, the cold water tap makes a loud trumpeting noise every time it is turned on, which seems to be getting worse. It is only this tap, none of the others in the house do it. Can anybody help....PLEASE...it's driving me mad!!

Our tap does this as well!
My guess is it's caused by the water passing through/over the actual washer and its seat. Your changing the washer has altered the dynamics of the flow. It it really bothers you, try changing the washer again, for one of a different thickness or composition. Make sure the washer is firmly secured.
We just put up with ours.
This happens with the hot tap in our bath, as we have just had a new boiler fitted & the water presure is much better than before. Our plummer told us that the only way to stop it is to turn the presure down (which we don't want to do) I find that if i turn on the cold tap in the sink very slowy it stops the noise. Another way is to not run the tap at full stream. It takes longer to run a bath in, but its less noisey!!
