growing courgettes

i am a first time courgette grower and i have grown a few from seed which are in pots and a grow bag. they are flowering but no fruits are appearing just long green stalks , is their a problem or is this normal ?

Courgettes have male and female flowers The female bears the fruit so until they appear there is no chance.. They like plenty of water.
Hi NICKYNACK,
One thing I remember from marrow growing, courgettees are just a smaller version really, is that they have male and female flowers on the same plante, the females which develope into fruits, therefore you need both sex's of flower to have pollination,which is doneby insects. If my memory serves me well, the male flowers have about 7 petals and the females usually fewer, abuot 5. Good Luck T bird+
