Dressing Up Clothes

My daughter has a Snow White outfit (among others), the thing is now so dirty it's nearly walking on its own. It says to sponge clean only, but that just isn't working. Has anyone ever bunged one of these in the machine or hand washed it.

I have hand washed, and that has worked fine, however, when i did throw one into the washing machine, the netting on arms and the hem, has frayed.

I've washed my daughter's Belle dress and it's fine (M&S one). Depends on the original quality.

If it's as dirty as you say, you've not much to lose - bung it in the machine!!!

I wash all my daughters' dressing up clothes in the washing machine on a regular basis as i cant stand dressing up clothes smell and I spin them and tumble dry them.

However, if it is very delicate, you could turn it inside out and put it inside a pillow case before you wash it. Then spin it on the slowest spin and drip dry on the line outside.

Make sure you use an old pillow case and wash it on it's own. Sometimes, garments say sponge clean/dry clean only as it they are so not colour fast and the colours will run like billy-O. Best not take any chances and wash it alone.

Well, just taken it out of machine, put it on 30 degree wash and tis fine. Now smells lovely and comforty so thanx everyone for your advice. Gonna start on the rest of the dressy up stuff now.
