how often is your rubbish bin emptied by the council? I mean the general waste, not the recyclable stuff. And what county do you live in?

Ours is once a fortnight - lancashire

Oxfordshire - Recycling & normal waste alternate weeks, so each is collected once a fortnight... that make sense??
Hi every friday up here in edinburgh........times vary!!!
Somerset/ Devon boarder starting this week. Food waster in brown bin weekly. Black wheely bin every two weeks, Green box recycleble weekly. No cardboard or plastic, have to take to tip. Brenda x
Bedfordshire - Household waste, grey bin, every week.
Garden waste, green bin and recyclables, orange bag, alternate weeks.
We are on a 2 week cycle now which we can just about manage with - even with 2 kids - but there's no scope for any unusual items - I've made more trips to the local dump recently and have had to hire a skip on a couple of occasions when things have mounted up - I found some cheap companies using this website http://www.skiphiredirect.co.uk
