Dualit toaster

Has anyone had any experience in repairing a 4 sandwich toaster manufactured by Dualit - one of the end elements isn't working so I ordered one and fitted the new one - problem is I am not able to refit the element retaining bar It covered the whole old elements but it wont hold the new element in as the bar does not fit inside the V shaped groove at the connection end,
anyone any ideas ?

Isn't mine repairing it for someone - they are a heavy duty toaster for use in the catering businesses - found out what the problem was anyway - got sent the wrong element.
