What font is used by schools when young children are learning to read? I want to make up reading cards, and need to use the accepted font. Ta!

Not a definitive answer, but my boyf is a headmaster at a junior school, and says that he uses Comic Sans, so I'd give that a go. Is very legible, and nicely rounded :)

Another fave @ daughter's school is Lucinda's handwriting, which joins together
Sans serif fonts such as arial. In a pont size no less than 12.

here's a study on readability of fonts for young kids!
I always use sassoon font which is used to make many commercial cards etc. I got mine from using a program which used it.But you can get it from here http://web.tiscali.it/ghizza/Fonts/Fonts.html#down
