We have a dinning room chari that seems to make a squeaking noise when some one sits on it and they move slightly. It is a wooden one with a velvet type seat, they are part of the Nathan furnitre range. Anyone any ideas what may causse it and how to stop it?
Probably one of the cross joints where it fits into an upright piece. This isn't uncommon in the winter months when the wood dries out in the low humidity experienced in most homes. Try sitting the chair in your bathroom, especially if you have a shower. Leave it there for a few days to see if it helps. If it's fixed it will last for two or three weeks. Eventually, one should take the joint apart and reseat it with fresh glue. Best of luck!
