I fitted one of those taps where you screw the fiiting into the cold water pipe and connect via a flexible hose through the wall to an outside tap. It also comprises an internal tap. But after 4-5 years it stopped working. Last year I fitted another, about 6 inches from the original one on the cold water pipe, and it was fine through the summer, but when I went to use it last week that had dried up too. There is nothing wrong with the outside tap (I used the original one) or the hose (it was completely clear of bolckages), so it must be the internal tap/mechanism that bores through the water pipe. The hole it bores is about 5mm in diameter so it's difficult to see how it could get blocked. Has anyone had a similar experience and do you know the cause?
I have the same problem, I think it is the non return valve that stops dirty water being syphoned back into mains that has seized up, these are now a legal requirement but mine is being done away with for good, they are a nuisance!!!
