Low energy heat lamp bulbs

Does anyone know if you can get an infrared heat lamp bulb in a low energy version?I am needing one for some ducklings that are due to hatch in a week but the bulb i have got is very expensive to have on 24/7 which i have to do.

A conventional filament light bulb converts about 95% of the electrical energy to heat energy. There is no such thing as a low- energy heat lamp. Heat energy costs money unfortunately. A 500 Watt infrared bulb will cost approximately 3 pence per hour to run (assuming 1 kilowatt-hour costs 6 pence) This works out at 72p a day or �5 per week.
