Thunderbird

Due to new PC I have been resetting my email/thunderbird After a long frustrating morning and several calls to my ISP we discovered that Thunderbird was defaulting to TLS encryption - in case anyone else has a problem they might like to make a note!
Also Thunderbird creates a 'special' with no identities This is the only one showing in the sidebar and opens each time as default. In fact I have 3 accounts with different email address and to open these I have to go to tools account settings to access these. With the old PC and my laptop these are all listed in the side bar with personal as default - the most used. Maybe this is something Thunderbird has also changed or I should be able to see how to correct it. If anyone can help me sort out I would be most grateful - thanks

You can just copy your thunderbird profile across from the old computer.

many thanks for replying but do not have access to hard disk on old PC until arrival of wireless adapter which is also holding up copying over bookmarks - hope the postie arrives soon!
