Can anyone give me a good story to help me with an insurance claim cos i dont think the truth will look too good or be helpful in ensuring the claim......?
My son was pr4tting about with candles one night n dripped n spread wax in a central part of the lounge, so i couldnt exactly hide it.....a friend told me i should use brown paper and iron over it, n it should get all the wax out. I did this and have consequently melted that bit of carpet!! Oops. Please help.

Well its not as tho im trying to scam anyone - im just as entitled to a claim as anyone - at least it IS genuine...but my son is a dependant and unable to pay for it.
In that case - tell the truth. I don't see how you can 'hide' ironing the carpet!

Thanks for your replies -
@roaldo - yea but is that what 'accidental' damage means?

For future reference what you should have done is put an ice cube on it and then it goes hard and comes off easily, however what's done is done and you need to just be honest and if they don't meet your claim then so be it, that is one of the prices you pay when you have children.
