Before I moved here I had a homeplan insurance with British Gas for my central heating boiler etc. and it was fairly reasonable in cost. Last year I had a new boiler installed with British Gas together with all the safety thingys imaginable and it was FREE for a year. Suddenly I have a quote which is so much more expensive than I had before and I was wondering, is it possible to insure with anyone else? Would be grateful to hear if anyone knows about this. Thank you

I work for a company in the northwest that carries out maintenance work for one of these insurance companies called homeserve, however I do think most of these companies are under the same umberella

Thank you for your answer. Actually I suspected that.
I had a insurance plan with B.Gas but when I had no hot water for 3 days , this was in the winter (old people and familys first )
when the guy turned up he was tired , and nasty , so now have a local guy who is on the ball . Also how often will a boiler conk out , or a radiator leak ? It's a con as if the boiler is serviced once a year should have no problem . My problem was the thermostat on the tank .
