can anyone tell me where you can purcahse stipple from or has anyone used the technique of sand mixed with paint to give a textured finish

sorry topman not the question i asked but thanks.
You can buy textured paint for ceilings in the DIY shops , I have used it and it's ok but as topman said have it done by a plasterer , it will look loads better .
Haven't tried it, but I remember seeingsomewhere that you need to add PVA glue to the paint if you are adding sand to it - not sure why, but I would check a diy site to be sure.
Give textured masonry paint a try. That'll work.
