Shower dilemma

I want to put a shower over the bath, but do not want the hassle of putting in an electric one or anything where holes have to be made in walls. The bath has 2 separate taps, not a mixer. Would it be worthwhile getting a mixer tap put in with a connected shower, or is there a simpler solution? Many thanks for all answers.Liz65

i have an electric shower in each house we have lived in cos my sisterinlaw has a combi with this so called benefit of no stored water and all the massive space of an airing cupboard given back to them when the combi was installed.every time it breaks down they have no hot water for washing, last time was 4 days so in the end they went up the local swimming baths on a sunday morning, 10 for 4 showers
my point is the electric shower is an alternative and with older heating systems/boilers you have a source of instant hot water
Hi Liz Yes it is possible to fit mixer with combined shower take off see here http://www.screwfix.com/prods/48700/Bathrooms/ Bathroom-Taps/Bath-Shower-Mixer/Contract-Therm ostatic-Bath-Shower-Mixer-
But there There are certain criteria that needs to be addressed do you have a hot water cylinder (airing cupboard) do you have large storage tank in the loft (needs to be raised at least 1 mtr above ceiling joists to give shower power) you will need double check valve on the cold mains to prevent back siphonage (but the ideal cold should be taken from the same tank that supplies the hot cylinder)then you need to get 2or 3 quotes from plumbers for the above work HTH Tez
Hi, you can get thermostatic mixer taps for just this, they work well, I have fitted loads of them. and they will fit your bath.
