Ceilng paper

I'm going to try papering my bedroom ceiling shortly. Are
there any pitfalls .? For example walking backwards on a
plank , whilst trying to affix paper etc . The room is approx
13 ft x 15ft. Any suggestions will be most welcome.

If at all possible take the ceiling rose down so you don't have to work round it - it will look neat when you put it back up.

You might find a broom with a clean towel and pillow case on the brush end useful to support the paper whilst you have a rest - your arms will ache. This is a good guide:

My next door neighbour is a decorator and he would charge around �50 to do that job . I know what my choice is.

that's a very good site Ethel but if you going to use a long plank I would put a support in the middle also it doesn't say any thing about the fact that the line you make @
18"each end of the room needs to be joined with a chalked red line held tight both ends and pinged onto the ceiling and not to follow a maybe uneven wall HTH Tez

Re the rose, no real need to take it off, just loosen it so you can tuck under.

HOWEVER!!!!!!

I tried this some time ago in my kitchen, smaller than the one you are doing. Working on the shortest length (across, about 6 - 8 feet) I eventually gave up. I'd get it all aligned, stuck up, and looking good, and then when I least expected it, it just fell off. In the end I did it with a skimmong plaster and paint.

Loosening the rose to tuck under is fine if it's at the edge of the paper. It's all in the middle in the house - in every single blerdy room.

i would say get someone to help. that way you won't have to wressle with it so much.
and make sure that when someone makes the teas they don't turn the 'leccy on and not tell you so when you go to do round the light / rose you get a belt!!!!! thanks , the wife. much appreciated! she didn't get to claim my life insurance , quite.
