cleaning a shower curtain

i live in a hard water area and our shower curtain always has mouldy stains on the bottoms 6 inches, i launder the curtain every 2 weeks which does make a little difference but never comes out spotless and by the next 2 weeks needs washing again. i sometimes scrub the curtain with a nail brush but this is back breaking work, and still not totally effective, is there an easy method where i can soak the bottom section in some sort of anti-fungi solution, please help because this is driving me mad, many thanks.
