How do I stop Moles digging up my lawn?

Moles have suddenly appeared (haven't seen them! - only the signs of their visit.) and left molehills all over the lawn. What can I do to prevent this?

dont stop them digging ! . when they have made there runs they will stop popping mole hills up. they are doing you a favor by making little drainage channels under your lawn . also collect the mole hills and use this very fine soil in your pots

Just fill there holes with loads of water they'll soon sodd off....

Catch them, and bury them alive.

Make flower beds instead and that way they can do the digging for you?

They are protected by law - so leave them be
They also eat many garden pests
