I have a four foot d/a tree fern in a pot on my deck, what type of fertiliser should I use, how much and when? Any advice would be most welcome.

Care tips here.
Mine gets a handful of chicken manure pellets in spring and then, it's vital that you water once a week in the growing season (june to sept) with a liquid feed....i use miracle grow.

However, when you feed it, feed the area where the leaves come out of (top of trunk or the crown)...make sure you add a little at a time to allow it to soak in. Also make sure the trunk gets a feed too...i keep my trunk as wet as possible at all times.

The more you feed, the bigger and better the fronds will be the following year.

Good luck

Thank you both, I'll start with your advice right now and hopefully get huge fronds sprouting soon.
