Is it too early to plant petunia bedding plants? I am in Nottingham.

I think it's a bit early - I'm in Derby & you're often a degree or two warmer than we are but I'm not risking it until next month.
You can stand them out in the sun during the day now, but be sure to take them in at evenings. but do it gradually if they are from a warm greenhouse ,. Plant out after all fear of frost has finished usually end of May.

I should think so!! In spite of bedding plants being on sale now, I'd wait another month yet.

Thanks everyone - I suspected as much. Silly me for planting out 20 yesterday.....
Far far too early to plant any half hardy annuals outside....i've only just pricked my petunias out and Nicotianas will be another 2 weeks.

We've had hard frosts all this week down south and only 5 days ago, Britain was in the middle of arctic conditions.

Wait until the 1st week of June
You know you can plant out when the lilac's in flower.... It seems to work.
