gas fire

we had a new living flame gas fire fitted 14 months ago so out of guarantee.the last 2 nights after it has been on for about 30mins it starts to give out a high pitch sound.so we have had to turn tv up a bit.its not very loud but it is annoying.any clues on what it could be ?

It's a gas fire. If it's doing anything it shouldn't, turning the TV up to deaden it could be regarded as negligent. Get it checked out. The chances are it's no major problem, but if it's a symptom of poor combustion or something you could be looking at its being very dangerous.

is it one with a fan powered flue or just an ordinary type?

we have a chimmney so i think it is just an ordinary one..
