Black marks in toilet

What can I use to remove black marks in the toilet pan, I think it is probably cause by limescale, have tried the usual toilet descalers from supermarkets.

Normal coke's full of sugar, but that doesn't matter at all, in comparison to diet coke...which contains.....are you ready for this??? Aspartame......which is in lots of fizzy drinks, chewing gums, hair p[roducts, etc.
It can break down into formaldehyde - used as an embalming fluid, and which is a cancer-giving agent.
Also into benzene.
It's been deemed "safe" by the food industry, but I won't have it in the house! Might be good as a toilet cleaner though!!

I agree with tonyted, Harpic 100% Limescale Remover is your best bet. but make sure you get the one called "Original" in the blue bottle (the one called "Fresh" or something similar, in the green bottle doesn't seem to be as effective as the original). As suggested, pour some into the bowl and leave overnight... If it doesn't shift it, then it can't be limescale.
