magnolia tree

ihave a magnolia tree approx 5 years in my garden and this year it is bearing several fruits that are shaped similar to a corn on the cob or small bunch of bananas. could you tell me what they are. thanks.

They are seed pods, each cluster is full of seeds, they are usually red or pink turning black but vary a lot in size according to the species.
