to be honest, i wouldn't screw anything into upvc frames. have you looked at the thin, white metal, telescopic poles specially made for hanging net curtains? i used them when i had nets in the dining room. and also very small self-adhesive white plastic hooks to help support the pole across the window span (it's a very wide window).
Yup, I agree. I wouldn't screw hooks into upvc frames either. I too used extendable rods and sticky hooks. One thing I would add thought is but quality sticky hooks - cheapo ones are a false economy and just keep falling off.
Many thanks, Folks, for your advice. I will endeavour to, once again, try the plastic hooks method. But unfortunately they keep falling off as new hooks will not adhere due to the residue of glue left behind by the numerous other hooks! Marymint.
Mostyns the curtaining people do wonderful velcro stuff. You stick the velcro strip on to the window frame...it peels off again if you ever want to change the decor or move etc. This strip has the velcro"hooks" on it.
Sew rufflette to the nets and gather them to the width and just stick them up. I have got these on net curtains .Brilliant .
No fiddling about ..you just pull them off ,wash 'em and stick them back up again .And they stay put unlike all these sticky hooks which fall off after a while. Or the telescopic things which fall down at the drop of hat while you are nosing out of the window ! Especially good if you have curved type windows .
