I have a large cabinet on my wall. It is very solid and in fine condition except for the door. It kept coming away at the hinge (the cabinet is pretty old and the doors very heavy) so now it is completely off.
Instead of a new cabinet, what would be the best way of securing a new set of doors on.

Obviously it's difficult to envision how the original hinges were mounted. If they were face mounted, i.e., attached to the cabinet on the face of the frame, then I would see if one could reinforce the mounting area by installing an approrpriate size piece of wood on the back side of the mounting area. One could do the same thing for the back side of the actual door, if that part of the hinge moount is damaged...

Best of luck!
