Hi Everybody, I am desperately in need of some cleaning advice!
I bought a tall lamp from MFI awhile ago which is made from a canvas like materiel or something similar. There are no cleaning instructions and the lamp is frantic need!!!
Does anybody have a clue, possibly a home dry cleaning tip to remove grubby finger marks and the like?

A brief description if it helps, cream 3 ft (ish) cube with little decoration squares cut into the cream material...once illuminated the black fingerprints look Ghastly!!! HELP!

Get a cloth, dunk it in a bit of soapy water and wring it as hard as you can so there's no excess water at all, then start going over the fabric.
An old fashioned way to clean fabric lampshades safely was to use a piece of fresh bread. It actually works! & you can put the crumbs out for the birds afterwards!
You could try a soft pencil eraser.

Thanks everybody, I tried a damp cloth which seemed to just push the murky bits around...Not tried bread! I'll give it a go...failing that do you know where I can buy of of those dry cleaning pads, without going online?
