If you had to start again and install heating in your house and you did not have gas laid on what method would you choose?

looks like solar and ground sourse heating are going to be the way to go, very very expensive at present though

Hmm- I wonder if a version of the Roman Hypocaust is a viable option? Nice bag of coal or wood every day to keep it going?
