have lifted an old carpet that has been glued to a concrete floor.
Does anyone know how to lift remnants that are stuck on apart from sheer force????

I had a similar problem with the foam underlay stuff sticking to the floor when I removed the old carpet. The way I removed it was to buy one of those window scrapers which have something similar to a stanley blade in it. Just a bit of scraping removed it without too much bother. hope this helps.

Had this problem recently in a friend's house. I had a 'brain wave' and decided to use a grass strimmer! Surprisingly it worked, although I would recommend using a face mask in a confined space with all those fibres flying around.

Whether it would work for you would, I suppose, depend on what type of glue was used, but for me it saved a great deal of time.

Open all the windows and use a flame gun to burn it off.
