noisy outdoor airconditioning units

I need to build something around my outdoor airconditoning units. i have two. They are noisy and obnoxious. I need suggetions on soundproofing material suitable for outdoor application. ?

Is the noise just the fan and compressor or a rattling noise? If it is a metallic rattle chances are the pipe work leaving the compressor on the inside of the A/C box could be touching the metal cover and creating this. If it is in its warranty period I would not suggest putting anything over these systems as it would almost certainly void it. You can take the cover panels off the A/C unit and see if you can separate the pipes from the wall of the unit. for further info on Air Con please go to www.global-cooling.co.uk for questions and answers. If it is really noisy and in warranty ask the engineer to have a look at the system as you would want to avoid it burning out and being an expensive project.
