Kitchen sink/electric cooker regulation

Is there a regulation that says you can't but your sink next to an electric oven? What I have is the sink bowl on the right hand side of the cooker. The oven is Electric, the hob is gas.

There is no regulation to say you can't.How ever common sense would tell you otherwise !

I seem to remember that you're not supposed to have electrical switches or power points within reach of water -- but I've seen lots of kitchens (including ours) set up that way. As Norfolk Boy says, not a good idea anyway.

I`m just having a kitchen refit and apparently my cooker has to be moved to the other side of the kitchen opposite my sink, not next to it as it is now. The fitter told me that this is the new regulation.
