How do you grow magnolia from the seeds pods that develope on them?

They are quite difficult. You need to wrap them in something like moss, put them in a polythene bag and put them in the fridge for two to three months (This is called stratification btw, it fools them into thinking their own native winter has happened) Sow them in spring and hope they germinate. I should warn you they take many years to flower, sometimes 20 to 25 years, and usually the result is inferior anyway I should have said at the beginning you need to take the seeds out of the pod first, they come out easily when ripe
