After a weekends chutney making the whole house reeks of vinegar. How do you get rid of the smell?

Burn a few matches. I don't know why it works, but it does.

Aromatic oil burners with fragrant oils help. Also, I find that burning incense sticks (particularly lavender ones) gets rid of cooking smells very quickly.
